Sapindaceae - Soapberry Family

The Soapberry Family, Sapindaceae, features notable members in the boreal forest, including mountain maple (Acer spicatum) and vine maple (Acer circinatum). Acer spicatum graces the eastern part of North America with its vibrant foliage, contributing to the biodiversity of the boreal forest. Acer circinatum, much more rare in the north, has small populations in the Copper Plateau and Cook Inlet ecoregions.
